Welcome to the Codex Gruitcurtensis shrineYou have reached a small corner of the web devoted to the Codex Gruitcurtensis — an aged manuscript I discovered by chance, and now lovingly studied, page by page, breath by breath. I found it in the crypt of the ruins of an ancient monastery dedicated to St. Arnulf near Gruitcourt, France, during an outing with my beloved wife, Ale. The Codex is a manuscript that bears a story and complete musical notations, which I have transcribe and interpret here as closely as possible. The text is written in Latin. I do not speak Latin, but have a friend that understands a little. Together we have begun to grasp its meaning which now I present it to you.
